The Holiday Giving Guide

‘Tis the season! We are fully into holiday madness, and it’s hard to comprehend that we’re in the twilight hours of 2022. As this year draws to a close, it’s important to remember that this season is as much about giving as receiving.

A few weeks ago, we listed a holiday gift guide to help support feminist-aligning businesses. We hope you loved shopping the wonderful companies and creators we showcased. As consumers, we’re big believers in supporting small, women-owned, and feminist businesses. We also note that this time of year is a big deal for another kind of organization –– non-profits.

December is the World Cup for non-profit organizations –– the money they’re able to pull in during these final months of the year helps them set budgets for the year to come and are incredibly impactful. Plus, you get a tax write-off for your contribution! Win-win!

As a team, we’ve put together a list of charities & non-profits we either support individually or as a company. We hope that you’ll share a small piece of your holiday budget with some of these very worthy causes.

As a side note, if you have the financial ability to, setting up a re-occurring donation at any of these organizations is a great way to help support them throughout the year. Monthly contributions help organizations create budgets, implement programs, and hire needed staff.

If we missed any organizations, please feel free to drop them in the comments!

Together Rising

Every year, Her First $100K™ choosing a non-profit or charitable foundation to support with a percentage of all of our sales, and this year we are so honored to have chosen Together Rising as our foundation for 2022.

Together Rising is a multi-faceted non-profit that works to heal collective and individual heartbreak across the globe through effective action. “Whether it’s pulling children out of the sea outside the refugee camps in Greece, helping abandoned kids on the streets in Indianapolis, establishing the first opioid recovery home for pregnant teens in New Hampshire, building a maternal health wing in Port-au-Prince, providing a single mother access to breast cancer treatment, or keeping a foster family’s heat on in Texas — Together Rising identifies what is breaking the hearts of our givers as they look around their world and their community, and then we connect our givers’ generosity with the people and organizations who are effectively addressing that critical need.”

Most recently, as the protests in Iran regarding women’s bodies, freedom, and autonomy rage on, Together Rising has aligned with the Center for Human Rights in Iran and has donated $113,000* to the organization which will go towards advocating for human rights for Iranians and amplifying the voices and stories of the Iranian people.
