Looking for a perfect BFF staycation in Seattle?
If you know Kristine and me, we always do a friendmoon — a honeymoon trip as platonic best friends. 2017 was Costa Rica, 2019 was Italy, and 2020 was supposed to be three weeks in Australia/New Zealand. But COVID had other plans, and we had to cancel our trip. So when you can’t travel, a relaxing staycation is the perfect compromise.
Kristine and I met at work in 2016. Our office was a block from Pike Place Market, and we could see our old office from our room at the Four Seasons. It was such a full-circle moment for us, being able to have a relaxing, luxurious staycation together mere blocks away from where we first became friends. Crazy to think about how much we’ve been through since then, and I felt so blessed to be able to celebrate with her.
I cannot tell you how amazing our stay was. The hospitality of the staff was absolutely extraordinary — every single employee we encountered greeted us by name, including the executive chef who came out of the kitchen to specifically say hello to us. The food, especially the grilled octopus, salmon, and cocktails, was top-notch; the bed was comfortable; and the view of the sunset was one in a million.
About Four Seasons
Four Seasons is one of those places you always dream of staying in after hearing story after story of its grandeur, beauty, and elegance. When I was blessed enough to be able to experience this for myself, everything I had heard about the place was elevated tenfold— and it was more charming than I ever thought possible! From the moment you step into the lobby, you feel like royalty.
One of the first things I noticed was the long and luxurious list of amenities. See the Puget Sound and iconic Seattle Ferris Wheel from above out on their balcony, complete with fire pits and a glass railing. Now, if you know me, you know I’m a HUGE foodie— and the meals here did not disappoint. Whether you’re dressing up and dining in at the Goldfinch Tavern, or kicking it back poolside (an infinity pool at that) at the bar & grill, you have a grand meal waiting for you without setting foot outside the hotel. Don’t forget room service— Four Seasons’ in-room bistro is active all day long with a menu that makes your mouth drool. Need your coffee in the morning? Take advantage of their complimentary coffee concierge who will make sure you wake up with a fresh cup by delivering it straight to your room.
The fitness center also didn’t disappoint (for one of the first times in my life, I actually *wanted* to go on a run.) It’s open 24 hours and faces the beautiful Elliott Bay and horizon beyond. Afterward, rinse off in Seattle’s only hotel with deep soaking tubs and separate rain showers in every single one of their rooms. Or, make an appointment at their spa and treat yourself to a body treatment or massage.
What’s more, you’re walking distance to some of Seattle’s most popular sights. Whether you already have your trip planned out or are looking for a tailored experience using the hotel’s concierge, you’re placed right where all the action is. A few minutes can take you to the waterfront park and the Seattle great wheel. Venture half a mile and you’re in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square. While we opted to remain inside the hotel during this stay, just know that you’re also a stone’s throw away from a long list of attractions.
COVID Precautions
Of course, no matter where you go right now, thoughts of COVID and your safety are going to be top of mind. However, I was so impressed by the team’s dedication to safety and health during our stay that I never found myself worrying. Here were just some of the precautions in place to make sure guests were safe and healthy:
-
Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the hotel.
-
Any time you enter the hotel, your temperature is checked via a thermal check.
-
After your departure, your room is left empty for 24 hours before housekeeping enters. The same 24-hour window applies to when you’re arriving.
-
Masks and personal hand sanitizers are provided in the bathrooms.
-
All employees wear masks.
-
Only 2 people are allowed in the gym at a time, and you need to make an appointment.
Overall, this was the staycation I needed to reset, refuel, and revive myself after a few long months of work and stress. If you’re ever looking for a place to relax and unwind while also enjoying the sweeping Seattle views before you and being a stone’s throw away from the city’s most iconic landmarks, look no further than Four Seasons Seattle.
Thanks to the Four Seasons Seattle for hosting me. As always, I only work with brands I full-heartedly believe in, and all opinions are my own.
